Peripheral Thrombectomy
Penumbra’s Indigo ™ Aspiration System, launched in 2014, is designed to remove clot from arteries and veins in the peripheral vasculature, for treatment of pulmonary embolism, and/or certain central circulatory system conditions such as pulmonary emboli. Penumbra's CAT™ family of catheters is engineered to be robust, trackable, atraumatic, and well suited to the peripheral anatomy where clots can form in long segments. The Indigo System utilises the Penumbra ENGINE™ aspiration source capable of delivering nearly pure, continuous vacuum to our catheters to remove thrombus in vessels of various sizes. Most recently, Penumbra launched Lightning™ Computer-Aided Aspiration which enables physicians to focus on optimising thrombus removal using the system's unique clot detection mechanism.
Peripheral Embolisation
Ruby™ Coil, POD™, and Packing Coil are large volume coils designed to work in conjunction to help facilitate simple and efficient embolisation procedures. Ruby Coil is designed to densely pack aneurysms and vessels in a variety of clinical applications. POD is designed for high-flow vessel sacrifice, while Packing Coil is designed to conform to a variety of vessel sizes behind a POD or Ruby Coil backstop. The LANTERN™ Delivery Microcatheter integrates a low-profile microcatheter with a high-flow lumen to deliver Penumbra’s large volume peripheral embolisation coils.
